Bio

Dr. Weimin Gao is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Toxicology and the Institute of Environmental and Human Health, Texas Tech University System. He received his M.D. in Preventive Medicine from the Nanjing Medical University in the People’s Republic of China. His M.P.H. in Occupational Medicine & Toxicology is from the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine in Beijing, China. He earned an M.S. in Biostatistics from the Graduate School of Public Health of the University of Pittsburgh. His Ph.D. in Environmental & Occupational Health & Toxicology is from the Graduate School of Public Health of the University of Pittsburgh as well. He was a Research Fellow in the Department of Pediatrics/Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan’s School of Medicine. He was a Research Assistant, Research Associate and Assistant Professor at the Department of Toxicology, National Laboratory of Industrial Hygiene, Ministry of Health in Beijing. He was a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Critical Care Medicine, School of Medicine, at the University of Pittsburgh. His current research focuses on molecular epidemiology, early detection of cancers, cancer chemoprevention, proteomics and metabolomics. Dr. Gao has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He is a member of Society of Toxicology (SOT), American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), and US Human Proteome Organization (US HUPO).
