Dr. Stephen B. Cox, Assistant Professor, Ecology and Statistics. Dr. Cox's research interests focus on the development and application of advanced quantitative techniques to understand basic and applied questions in Ecology, Environmental Biology, and Human Health research. He views systems modeling and statistics as complimentary tools for understanding the effects of toxicants on complex ecological systems. He is particularly interested in the interactive effects of natural and anthropogenic stressors and disturbance on ecological systems. Dr. Cox received his B.S. in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Biology (1999), both from Texas Tech University. In 2001, Dr. Cox joined the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis at the University of California, Santa Barbara as a post-doctoral research associate working on the Knowledge Network for Biocomplextity, a project to integrate advances in informatics with ecological research. In 2002, he joined the staff at NCEAS as the Scientific Programmer and Analyst. He joined the faculty at TTU in 2002. |
