Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Environmental Toxicology Graduate Program at The Institute of Environmental and Human Health (TIEHH) at Texas Tech University.  We are embarking on a period of substantial growth within our program and are looking for qualified students that want to be a part of the many exciting opportunities available.

The Environmental Toxicology Application Packet includes:

Texas Tech University Graduate School application information
Application to the Environmental Toxicology Graduate Program
Application Checklist
Sample MS and PhD coursework
Reference form
FAFSA Application (for domestic students only)

Please follow all directions on the checklist sheet to ensure that all parts of your application are submitted correctly.  We strongly encourage all prospective graduate students to contact a faculty member whose research interests are similar to their own area of interest to discuss possible research opportunities.  Faculty members and their research interests can be found on our website.  Acceptance into our graduate program does not guarantee funding.  Stipends are either provided by the department or through the research grants of our faculty members and will be awarded to the most outstanding applicants.  Additional support is also available through the TTU Financial Aid Work Study Program.  Competition among potential students for stipends is fierce.

Applications must be complete to be considered for admission into the program.  To be complete, the file must include all the application materials required by the Department of Environmental Toxicology and those required by Texas Tech University Graduate Admissions.  All of these items are listed on the checklist provided.  Please keep in mind that the earlier you submit your completed application the better chance you will have of receiving funding.  Applications should be completed as stated below in order to be considered for admission for the following term.

Fall/Summer          February 1st
Spring                   September 1st

The Department of Environmental Toxicology is pleased that you are considering Texas Tech University for your graduate education.  The Graduate Admissions office can be reached at either 806-742-2781 or www.depts.ttu.edu/gradschool/admissions.  If you have any other questions please feel free to contact Stephen Cox, Graduate Officer or Stephanie Franco, Graduate Program Coordinator, or call 806-885-4567.
